AIR SCRUBBER TECHNOLOGY ABOUT THE AIR SCRUBBER Photo-Catalytic Oxidation (PCO) air purifiers draw air into the photo catalytic chamber to be purified. The photo catalytic chamber consists of a high intensity UV-C ultraviolet bulb (254nm) and a Titanium Dioxide catalyst. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the photocatalyst becomes highly reactive and attacks the chemical bonds of the bio-aerosol pollutants, these Hydroxyl radical molecules convert the toxic compounds into benign constituents, carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). Hydrogen peroxide and oxygen also forms to enhance the cleansing process.Hydroxyl radicals are often referred to as the "detergent" of our planet because it reacts with many pollutants.
